L'Ordre national du Québec - Honneur au peuple du Québec - La plus haute distinction décernée par le gouvernement du Québec.

Statutes and workings

The Ordre national du Québec was created by the Act respecting the Ordre national du Québec, assented to by the Québec National Assembly on June 20, 1984.

The Regulation respecting insignia of the Ordre national du Québec defines the different types of insignia (full-size, miniature, lapel pin, riband) specific to each rank, the awards procedure and investiture by the Premier.

Smooth operations are ensured by the Ordre’s Board and Secretariat.

Every year, the Board issues a public call for nominations in the media.

Membership in the Ordre national du Québec is open to anyone born or resident in Québec. The Premier may, at any time appoint, as an honorary member, an eminent individual who is not a Québec resident, but on whom the government wishes to confer an honour.
