L'Ordre national du Québec - Honneur au peuple du Québec - La plus haute distinction décernée par le gouvernement du Québec.

Goals and objectives of the Ordre

Recognizing excellence and merit, the Ordre national du Québec is an “honorary order”.

The expression Ordre national du Québec designates two things:

  • the highest award the Québec government gives out
  • all persons decorated with this award

The Ordre, the highest award

The Ordre national du Québec (in the sense of “decoration”) seeks to recognize and promote excellence. It is the highest award Québec bestows. Hence, its motto: Homage to the people of Québec.

Its main purpose is to honour the merits of individuals who have made an exceptional contribution to building and revitalizing Québec society.

The Ordre, ambassadors of excellence

The Ordre national du Québec (in the sense of “those decorated”) is intended as a beacon of social development.

The men and women inducted into it must be the living embodiment of excellence.
