Inaugurated in 2010, the monument of the Ordre national du Québec is located at the heart of Promenade Samuel-De Champlain. The site is accessible to most people with limited mobility. It is closed in winter.
The monument of the Ordre is a symbol of Québec’s intellectual wealth. Entitled Nos regards se tournent vers la lumière (Our eyes turn toward the light), it is the work of sculptor Roland Poulin. It strong synergy with the St. Lawrence River expresses Québec’s openness to the world.
Visitors can see the names of members (current and future) of the Ordre engraved in the stone.
